Institut Eurécom is an academic and research institute specializing in communications and network engineering. It offers a graduate teaching program in communications systems, in which students can specialize in either corporate, mobile or multimedia communications. It is also a leading research center in advanced communications and networking research. Institut Eurécom is located in Sophia-Antipolis, a major European technology park for telecommunications research and development. Institut Eurécom was founded in 1992 by EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne) and Télécom Paris (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications). URL (Ramon Llull University) was the first private non-profit university in Spain, proclaimed by unanimous vote by the Parlament de Catalunya (Catalan Regional Parliament) on the 10th of May 1991. Today it is one of the largest private universities in Spain with 10 Federated Institutions. One of them is La Salle School of Engineering and Architecture which provides degrees of Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunication, Image & audio, Multimedia and Architecture (3+2 years curriculum and PhDs). In La Salle School of Engineering, the CeTVD (Digital Television Centre) was created with the intention to serve as a technical reference and support element to the implied companies in the Spanish TV sector. Apart from the direct collaboration with companies working in this field, the Centre has also as fundamental tasks the specialized training and the research in Digital TV and video.

:: Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (Germany) ::

RBB (Berlin Brandenburg Broadcasting Corporation) is the regional public broadcaster for the federal states of Berlin and Brandenburg. Based both in Berlin and Potsdam it runs one regional television channel and seven radio stations. It also provides a wide range of online and videotext services. RBB is part of the German federal broadcasting network ARD (Association of Public Service Broadcasting Corporations in Germany). For ARD, RBB runs the ARD Berlin Studio, its Warsaw studio and the ARD Play-Out-Center. Here, RBB is actively involved in developing future proof media technologies. RBB has longstanding experience in EU co-funded research projects (IST, Esprit, telematic engineering and eContent). Both its predecessors, ORB and SFB, were involved in this field from 1997. So far, RBB has successfully concluded 15 such projects both as consortium leader or partner and is currently participating in IST projects ATHENA and PORTIVITY.
